Who Qualifies for the Visa?

To apply for the Highly Qualified Worker’s Visa, the following conditions must be met:

Employer Eligibility:

  • Must be a Spanish company offering a specialised role.
  • Demonstrates significant economic activity and good financial standing.

Applicant Eligibility:

  • Holds a university degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Has a job offer for a managerial or highly technical role.
  • Meets the minimum salary threshold (typically €40,000–50,000 annually).

  • A valid contract with a company in Spain is required, ensuring the role aligns with the applicant’s qualifications.

Application Process

How to Apply for the Visa

The employer submits the application to the Large Companies Unit (Unidad de Grandes Empresas y Colectivos Estratégicos – UGE):

  1. Submit the application online or in person.
  2. Fast-track processing ensures approval within 20 working days.
  3. After approval:
    • Applicants abroad apply for a residence visa at the Spanish Consulate.
    • Applicants already in Spain can directly apply for the residence card.

This streamlined process makes it faster than other work permits.
